An engagement celebration

When a couple is first engaged it is an amazing and exciting time that they would love to share with close friends and family members. Unfortunately, you may not always be able to celebrate with everyone right away, depending on where and when he popped the question. I must say, Rob and I were extremely lucky to have had a party with our immediate friends and family the day we got engaged, but there were still other family members and friends that we did not see right away. To be able to share our special time with everyone, we knew we would need to have an engagement party, but the question was: How big would the party be?

Since Rob and I both come from large Italian families, we had to decide what type of party would suit us best. We never really knew the extent the party would get to until we began making the guest list. A week and 180 guests later, we knew we would need a nice size venue to accommodate our family and friends, and we had the perfect place in mind.

The Palisadium is a recently renovated venue with a spectacular view of New York City. Rob and I both wanted to have a view of the skyline for our engagement party because not only does it look beautiful but it would work perfectly with the theme we had in mind. The cocktail hour room and the large ballroom, also known as the “Skyline Room,” are filled with windows along the entire back and side walls, so no matter where guests are sitting they have a perfect view.
